Maximum Likelihood Registration of Dissimilar Sensors

نویسنده

چکیده

A generalised registration technique based on mixed-mode measurements from two or more spatially distributed sensors is presented. The algorithm outputs include maximum likelihood estimates of (i) registration parameters, (ii) registered sensor measurements and (iii) registered target location estimates expressed in a common coordinate system. Numerical results are presented for two sensors with xed but unknown measurement biases.

مقایسه روش‌های طبقه‌بندی‌کننده حداکثر مشابهت و حداقل فاصله از میانگین در تهیه نقشه پوشش اراضی (مطالعه موردی: استان اصفهان)

Land cover maps derived from satellite images play a key role in regional and national land cover assessments. In order to compare maximum likelihood and minimum distance to mean classifiers, LISS-III images from IRS-P6 satellite were acquired in August 2008 from the western part of Isfahan. First, the LISS-III image was georeferenced. The Root Mean Square error of less than one pixel was the r...

A Multi-temporal Image Registration Method Based on Edge Matching and Maximum Likelihood Estimation Sample Consensus

In the paper, we propose a newly registration method for multi-temporal image registration. Multi-temporal image registration has two difficulties: one is how to design matching strategy to gain enough initial correspondence points. Because the wrong matching correspondence points are unavoidable, we are unable to know how many outliers, so the second difficult of registration is how to calcula...

A New Approach to Self-Localization for Mobile Robots Using Sensor Data Fusion

This paper proposes a new approach for calibration of dead reckoning process. Using the well-known UMBmark (University of Michigan Benchmark) is not sufficient for a desirable calibration of dead reckoning. Besides, existing calibration methods usually require explicit measurement of actual motion of the robot. Some recent methods use the smart encoder trailer or long range finder sensors such ...

Image Registration Using Implicit Similarity and Pixel Migration

This paper presents an energy minimization approach to the registration of significantly dissimilar images, acquired by sensors of different modalities. The proposed algorithm introduces a robust matching criterion by aligning the locations of gradient maxima. The alignment is formulated as a parametric variational optimization problem which is solved iteratively by considering the intensities ...

Determination of Best Supervised Classification Algorithm for Land Use Maps using Satellite Images (Case Study: Baft, Kerman Province, Iran)

According to the fundamental goal of remote sensing technology, the image classification of desired sensors can be introduced as the most important part of satellite image interpretation. There exist various algorithms in relation to the supervised land use classification that the most pertinent one should be determined. Therefore, this study has been conducted to determine the best and most su...
